I totally get it! There are so many more eventsš, delicious treatsšŖ, and social drinkingš¹ going on.
Whether you drink or not, the holidays tend to be a time of year when there is more alcohol consumption in general. I have nothing against alcohol and donāt judge those who do or do not drink it, but I thought it might be helpful to share a few of my favorite ways to drink socially while still maintaining my health goalsāŗļø.
My TOP 6 TIPS:
šæHave a hearty, well-balanced meal BEFORE you start drinking
šSteer clear of mixers (opt for lime, lemon, fresh fruit, soda water, etc.)
š§Drink 1 glass of water in between every alcoholic drink
š§Carry around a bubbly with some lemon/lime in it to look as though you are drinking but really aren't
š°Have a "stop time" in which you transition to only non-alcoholic drinks (will benefit your sleep quality and duration)
šChoose higher-quality liquor such as organic wine (low/no sulfites or nitrites) or 100% agave tequila to reduce toxin load on the body
