Iāve noticed that a lot of us are uncomfortable with just taking a second to be present with all the chaos and beauty of life. We fill silence with noise š, we ignore our thoughts by staying busy š, and weāre so disconnected with our own bodies because weāre trying to stay connected to everyone else in some way š».
2 years ago I had a strong desire to do something different in my life; to be more present, more grateful, more aware of myself and my surroundings. So I purchased a meditation course (@zivameditation) and jumped in head first.
Sure, it was hard.
I never āemptied my mindā or āstopped thinking thoughtsā. š
Some days I really didnāt even want to do it, or thought āis this even worth itā?
But, here we are, 2 years later and I can tell you that it was šÆ worth it.
Iāve learned to be comfortable with the uncomfortable.
Comfortable with my own thoughts, comfortable with silence, comfortable with sitting still for 5-10 minutes. Iāve learned that there is ALWAYS something to be grateful for, and that every day looks a little different and thatās okay.
No matter what phase of life youāre in, or how much or how little experience you have with something like meditation or mindfulnessšæ, you can experience these same positive benefits in your own life even without a formal practice. āØ
Just take a few minutes to close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, and just be present with that moment. āŗļøš
