When was the last time you just closed your eyes and took a deep breath? šŸŒ¬

Updated: Jun 3, 2022

Iā€™ve noticed that a lot of us are uncomfortable with just taking a second to be present with all the chaos and beauty of life. We fill silence with noise šŸ”Š, we ignore our thoughts by staying busy šŸ“†, and weā€™re so disconnected with our own bodies because weā€™re trying to stay connected to everyone else in some way šŸ’».

2 years ago I had a strong desire to do something different in my life; to be more present, more grateful, more aware of myself and my surroundings. So I purchased a meditation course (@zivameditation) and jumped in head first.

Sure, it was hard.

I never ā€˜emptied my mindā€™ or ā€˜stopped thinking thoughtsā€™. šŸ’

Some days I really didnā€™t even want to do it, or thought ā€œis this even worth itā€?

But, here we are, 2 years later and I can tell you that it was šŸ’Æ worth it.

Iā€™ve learned to be comfortable with the uncomfortable.

Comfortable with my own thoughts, comfortable with silence, comfortable with sitting still for 5-10 minutes. Iā€™ve learned that there is ALWAYS something to be grateful for, and that every day looks a little different and thatā€™s okay.

No matter what phase of life youā€™re in, or how much or how little experience you have with something like meditation or mindfulnessšŸŒæ, you can experience these same positive benefits in your own life even without a formal practice. āœØ

Just take a few minutes to close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, and just be present with that moment. ā˜ŗļøšŸ’›
